Learning is an understanding that
life happens
without cause fate gives options to forgive ourselves
the transgressions of another
age
decades trailing knowledge to know our ego
and love a mirror
image
of imperfection exemplifying work
for family
so we are not alone
together
learning life.

Do You Find Indifference?
your neighbor's son lies
dying
for you
alien to the desert that
welcomes
his blood
baby's bloated bellies
ire
over
your
abandoned bounty
a lover's body
the heavens of
a new universe
and nights
are for
naming the heart's
constellations
bon ami
part your lips
with
quips
a joke
a smoke
artistry yields
Venus and Apollo
beauty
in a
brush
and you
blush
because
it makes no difference.

Pandora
Today was for finding old finds
kiddy collectibles.
A new-found currency filling my pockets
the wealth of naivete can't feed me
moisten this arid mouth.
Notes on arrested development
and other trinkets of twine
dead leaves
imperfect paintings
evidence of a life nonexistent.
For in me
je suis la boheme
Whitman's pioneer
mammal on the plain
Lolita to few.
An insulated menagerie
unwanted portent
and a forgotten road.
Weighing heavy on my soul
the chains of youth.

When the World was Flat
If I get on my bike
and I ride
to the sea
When I sit in my boat
and I row
to the end
How far will I fall?
Will it hurt?
Will I land?
and I ride
to the sea
When I sit in my boat
and I row
to the end
How far will I fall?
Will it hurt?
Will I land?

It's a Satiatingly Welcome Equation
Whew, out of town for a bit last week so keeping up with posting was essentially impossible. I suppose there should be some sort of exemption clause to new year resolutions. The trip consisted of space needles (While it was never in sight, its omnipresence was felt during my sojourn in the left coast's rainiest city.); chugging trains; conductors in classic apparel from the jolly belly to the navy chapeau; melty crab baguettes; plush bedding; acquired knowledge and a return trip on a very smelly bus.
Last night consisted of adorable friends gathering for an evening of birthday well-wishes and terrible food execution. It's the half-ass attempts at cooking that make these hops/malt/carbonation loving friends so entertaining. More drink for them always yields more food for me. It's a satiatingly welcome equation:)
