Eating Easter, Radish

Shave you thin
nibble you raw
little, happy
sharp, bite
Oh! Radish

The above, is my little ode to William Carlos Williams', "This is Just to Say." I'm trying to cultivate an original voice, but sometimes it helps to practice with the masters. Thanks Williams man for inspiring me with your plums!

I've been fearful of radishes all my life. You're so brave!

Yes, they can be scary little beasties. They sit there. Looking all cute with their sprouted green hair and happy pink bodies. To allay your fears and show the punks who's boss try: thinly shaving them onto a blood orange and fennel salad or leave them whole and devour with a dollop of fresh butter and fleur de sel. Congrats, you have turned the radish into your submissive culinary delight.
